On-roof systems
These are photovoltaic systems that are mounted on top of an already existing roof cladding. In most cases this type of mounting hardly affects the roof cladding.
In-roof systems
In-roof photovoltaic systems replace the roof cladding (roof tiles). The system is recessed into the roof, thus making the PV system and roof tiles look like a single unit.
